Greetings!

You should have gotten a letter explaining our responsibility for the Mardi Gras Prayer Breakfast.  I will post it below – please consider letting us use a griddle!  Students have signed up for certain jobs – that will require some of them to come early (EARLY!) next Tuesday morning or stay late next Monday.  All are welcome to stay later and come early to pitch in extra.  All students are asked to bring in items – they are listed below with the reprint of the letter.  If you would like/are willing, we are also in need to paper plates, and donations of such would be extremely welcomed; we would prefer to have plain white.

Next Tuesday will be a required school day for all Juniors.  We have a field trip afterwards to Bama Lanes for lunch, bowling, and celebrating what a great breakfast we made!  Please ask your student for his/her permission slip if you haven’t already seen it.

Dear Junior Class Parents,

Every year the Junior Class hosts a Mardi Gras Breakfast for the MCPS school community. This year the breakfast will be held on March 4, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.  Afterwards, the class will be taking a trip to a local bowling alley to eat lunch and bowl a few games.

  • We are asking that each student bring in an item for the Mardi Gras Breakfast. The students will be assigned an item to bring by their class officers (see list below).
  • We need as many pancake griddles as possible and promise to return them in good condition. If you have a pancake flipper/spatula that will not scratch your griddle, we would love to use it! Please make sure the griddle, electrical cord, and any other items you allow us to use are labeled with your name. If you do have a griddle we can use, please email Kerri Moore at kmoore@montgomerycatholic.org and bring the griddle to Room 1 of the Classic Building or the High School office on or before Thursday, February 27th.

A permission slip will be sent home first thing next week. We need the permission slips signed and returned with $20 by February 28th at the latest. The $20 will cover the cost of bowling, lunch, and the t-shirt that all students will wear on March 4th.

We have a tough task ahead of us, and we are very excited. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have.  Please make sure your student attends school this day; each student has a job for that day or the day before, and we need everyone to work to make this breakfast a success.  Thank you for your support!!
